Malnourished infant dies in Gaza amid worsening humanitarian crisis

The humanitarian crisis in Gaza has worsened since October 2023, with food, medicine, and aid blocked by Israeli forces. The World Food Program reports severe malnutrition among tens of thousands of children, raising concerns of mass starvation and ongoing war crimes.

AhlulBayt News Agency: A baby girl tragically died on Monday evening in southern Gaza due to severe malnutrition, a direct consequence of the ongoing Israeli siege that has restricted humanitarian aid since October 2023.

A medical source at the Nasser Medical Complex in Khan Yunis confirmed that the infant passed away in the pediatric and maternity ward, suffering from complications related to extreme malnutrition.

The incident highlights the devastating humanitarian crisis affecting Gaza, as Israeli authorities continue to block all border crossings, preventing essential food, medicine, and relief supplies from reaching civilians in need.

Reports from the World Food Program (WFP) indicate that over 70,000 children in Gaza are currently suffering from critical levels of malnutrition, warning that the crisis could escalate further if aid continues to be denied.

This tragedy serves as another harrowing reminder of the deadly consequences of the siege, exacerbating the suffering of civilians and raising concerns about ongoing war crimes and violations of international humanitarian law.
